June!

June is the month when summer gets into full swing and here in New Jersey, delicious strawberries herald in the warmer weather.

June's full moon, which falls on the 24th is called the Strawberry Moon!

To grow your own strawberries you need a patch with plenty of sun and you can plant them at any time of year, but after the first frost if you want berries the same year. Speaking of hot summer days, predictions for early to mid June call for one of the hottest periods of the summer so be sure to keep your gardens, yard and trees well watered during dry periods. Yes, grown trees can survive without it but they sure do appreciate it.
